Here Comes Center Sound

2010 Three Tree Point race

It's time to register your boat for CYC's SLAM Center Sound Series sponsored by Fisheries, the traditional kickoff of Seattle's big-boat racing season. The races this year will be Blakely Rocks, March 5, Scatchet Head, March 12, and Three Tree Point, March 26. Details, including information and links for registering are here. In the photo above, the boats are reaching south across Elliott Bay in last year's Three Tree Point Race. Racers can tune up for Center Sound in the CYC Windjammer series, Feb. 19 and 26.

Pacific Adventures

Rob and Teresa Sicade on Feb. 4 chronicled their four-and-a-half-year loop around the Pacific, the first presentation in this year's Fridays in February series at the CYC Shilshole Clubhouse. On Feb. 11, Brad and PJ Baker talked about their Pacific sailing adventure aboard their Perry 48 Ketch Capaz with their two sons. On Feb. 18, Mike Irish and Doug Stewart gave a presentation on a cruise along the west coast of Vancouver Island in their Cal 40 Madrugador. The last presentation will be Friday, Feb. 25, when Bob and Margaret Liston will detail their adventures in the Queen Charlotte Islands. The bar opens at 1830 and the program will begin at 1900. Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle - General Information

Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle is one of the oldest and largest yacht clubs in the Pacific Northwest. With more than 500 members, CYC plays a leading role in sailing activities in the region.

The club's facilities at Shilshole Bay Marina on Puget Sound and the Seattle Marina at Leschi on Lake Washington are focal points for major one-design and handicap racing events throughout the year. Conducting over 1300 starts annually, CYC is one of the most active clubs in the country.

Members also enjoy cruising in spectacular Northwest waters and around the world. CYC is a member of US Sailing and the Pacific International Yachting Association (PIYA).
